Irish Dance performance 11-24-12

Hugh, Talmage, and Liam before performing at Novemberfest.

Hugh' class; Ana, Talmage, Hugh and a real cute girl whose name I cannot recall.

I cannot believe how mature these two are becoming....of course this is Liam looking at the camera!

A significant  number of the members of An Tus Nua.

The picture is not great, I should have had sport mode on, but that is some heighth.

Moira and Liam with their hard shoes on.

Moira and Madeline (another dancer:) were great together.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving there is a large craft fair in Logan and they schedule various dance and singing groups throughout the day.  An Tus Nua, the kids Irish dance company, performed in the afternoon.  It was a good performance and the kids all had a good time.  Hugh was not too thrilled about the tinsel that was stapled to his very bright green t-shirt!  Brenton made it over and brought Grandma Sherie with him, Aunt Misty and Uncle Stu stopped by as well.  Dad videotaped a bit of it, I will post a video as soon as I figure it out!  I think I figured it out!

I phone photos of the week and some from the past!II

It was a tough week for the dogs as evident in this photo, Honey is missing but was sleeping in her bed.

Liam was not to sure about his 'date' with Mom...

then his hot chocolate came and he perked right up!

Don't let those cute faces fool you, Moira was poking Hugh in the ribs.

The 'marshmallow' turkey ornament Hugh made at cub scouts.

Liam literally took a moment to Irish dance in the rain when I sent him out to get the clothespins.

Not sure but at least he is happy!

Reading practice in the ugly green chair we love.  Note the missing piece, a dog chewed and then Moira trimmed it.

Gorgeous girl at her last Va Dels dance competition...I enjoy Irish more but don't tell anyone....

Our SLC vacation....sometimes just hanging out is the best!!!!

This is what Cody looked like from the minute we hit the freeway until almost Temple Square on 'drop off' day.

Love this amazing young lady.....EFY is definitely worth it!

Hugh during his Irish class..at times frustrating but in the end worth it.
We have had some crazy weather this week!!  Everything from unseasonably warm, to snow flurries, to pounding rainstorms complete with thunder and lightning!  Liam and Hugh finished up a session of swimming lessons and both moved up a level.  Hugh is a level 5 now and Liam was given the choice between level 10 or the Bronze (beginning) level of the Sports Academy swim team.  Very cool but that would mean three days a week for practice and more commitment down the road, Liam is going to take one more session of preteam after the holidays and then we will see.  We already go to Logan twice a week for Irish and then there is Young Mens/Womens  not to mention piano and school.  But it is still neat to see so much improvement and who knows what the new year will bring.  Thanksgiving is at the Ranch this year and there should be lots of family running around.  The kiddos have an Irish dance performance in Logan on Saturday, there is a huge craft fair called Novemberfest that the school gets invited to dance at yearly.  It will be fun to watch them dance as a school not just as competitors.  I don't have a real theme for this post, so enjoy the random pictures from my iphone I hope they are fun for whomever reads this.  I especially hope Cody has a chance to see some of them.
I am excited for the Holiday season and hopefully we will do lots of good things, we have already started on the charity blankets and am praying we are able to make more (flannel has gotten expensive).

The Big Drop Off!

I love this picture...there is a lifetime of memories and love in it!  And it makes me wistful for the old days.

Cody is looking a bit excited/anxious, Liam is trying his best to not lose it, the boys really miss Cody but both tell me they would not have it any other way.

My dearest friend dropping her Brenton off right behind us!

Jen is taking a picture of Cody while I take one of Brenton whom I think we were both driving a bit nuts!  Love the Mommas!

That hug has two years wrapped up in it!

The Greeter giving Cody the "questions"  no cell phones, no keys and I forget the third thing.
This was one of those amazing, emotional, spiritual days that go in the surreal file.  Hard to believe that this was 4 months ago and that Cody only has twenty months left of this wonderful call....we love this boy (and he will always be my boy!)  and are thrilled with what he is doing and who he is becoming.  I have to quit now or I am going to be a soggy mess.

Play time after Cody's Farewell Dinner! July 8,2012

Cody relaxed and shot bb guns with the boys.  Branson was all about helping Cody!

The AZ Hegartys came up for the occasion, we don't see them nearly enough.  I love how the cousins are still 'stair steps'.

Colin and Jack got in on the 'action', you will notice the goats hiding in their shed:).

Fun stuff!

A few more shots of the group.

Hmm seems to be the same picture...oh well still cute!

Cody with his sweet Grandmas, Sherie and Barbara.

Brylee getting in on the fun!

Mom, Jack, and I...still seems weird without Dad.

Then the fun moved to hot potato on the trampoline...

also known as try to maim or injure your cousin/sibling/friend.

Crazy cousins!
Silly people!
It was fun to have my Mom and Jack, Lisa, Colin, Genna come back over and just hang out in the yard while the kids shot guns and played.  We walked down to the river and just chatted.  It was funny Sister Richards had given us two boxes of frozen eclairs for the dinner...I forgot to thaw them so we just sat in the yard and passed the boxes around until they were gone.    It was a good day all the way around.

Liam's Race!

Saturday morning Liam and I headed for Logan for the "First Dam Run" 5k...doesn't he look interested?

Liam was on the front row for the start, no point in starting behind!

Still waiting....

Brenton, Hugh and Moira played on the playground for the brief time Liam was gone.

Brenton pulling Hugh up the wall, it was entertaining.

Check out that form!  A good, strong finish.

Woohoo! First in his age group and in the top 15 overall with a 22:27!

And the fans (Bubba) went to the swingset...

Hugh liked the swings until Brenton started 'helping' him.
Liam really enjoyed his first real race and he ran quite well...he averaged a 7:14 mile and did not seem all that tired when he finished to be quite honest.  The family enjoyed watching him and I think he is turning into quite the all around athlete, his Irish dancing is really improving as is his swimming.  Just thinking about all these different activities makes me tired (lol).

A few mission pictures....

This photo is from Cody's very first day in the mission..his mission president/mission president's wife look wonderful and I love the family photo in the background.

Cody with all the other brand new missionaries, the young man in the center back is his MTC companion...neat young man.

This is Cody with his long time friend Tyrel, They played years of soccer together and went all thru FFA together.  Tyrel is serving his mission in NYC.

Some of the Box Elder boys at the MTC world map.
I keep forgetting to post these pictures and after I promised my mom they would be on here I figured I better get busy before I mail her the link for this blog!  Cody's mission also has a facebook page which the mission matron maintains so sometimes we get to see him there.  Funny thing Josie and her family gave him this really nice camera and we made sure he had a good chip bu have yet to see any photographic evidence of his mission (hint).  But I am sure he is very busy doing other things.  Anyway I though I would sneak this in before I have to get back to the business of family.  We picked up the first batch of flannel for the holiday charity blankets so I need to get hyper organized and quick.  Sorry about the weird white spots with the pictures, we scanned them in and that is just how it worked.
